looks like a general aviation tail dragger type aircraft.
and they always leave the broken battery behind.

That main gear looks pretty beefy to me. I was thinking Norseman or Beaver, but neither seems to be the same. Dennis

Definitely not from a Beaver, and doesn't look like from a Norseman, as it had oleos.

Some digging finds that tapering square stock cantilevered landing gear used on the Stinson Reliant. These did have a WWII military variant. Looking at the weathering this site may be quite old.
Looking at the wreckage and the photos of a Reliant exposed during restoration it appears the brake line mounts on the front of the gear legs appear similar. Also the visible structure at the pivot point. http://warbirdsnews.com/warbirds-news/caf-stinson-at-19-restoration-update.html Walt
