Chris - speaking of airplanes and this thread. Are you or your father interested in attending a meeting in April in Denver to further flesh out some ideas on how we can collectively move forward in a larger collaborative effort?

I'm with you.  There's clearly two A's in Archaeology.

Another good question that should be asked:

Is there anyone who would like to attend, but has a weekend in April that wont work for them? If so what weekend won't work?

Craig, thanks for re-iterating that. I know the original thread made certain that it was open roll call for anybody who wants to provide input.

Matt,

Thanks for the invite. When I saw the plans for the meeting forming I immediately starting trying to figure out a second good reason to go to Denver. Once you have a date firmed up and the framework of an agenda I'll see what I can work out. But spring time can be pretty busy around my office so that could be a hang-up for me.

Have you considered setting up some sort of Web conferencing so that anyone from around the U.S. can participate remotely?  It would give more people the opportunity to participate. I feel the more people involved the better the chances are that there will an outcome that most people can agree with. It also doesn’t hurt to give as many people as possible some ownership in the foundation of any organization that develops.

We use a free/very inexpensive Web conferencing network at work. I’ll get the details and email the info to you outside the Forum.

I've been thinking of a way to do some web conference stuff with it but given think length of the meeting I'm not sure how to get sufficient bandwidth at the facility where the event is to be held. Might be able to put together a teleconference bridge for voice only pretty easily.

Let me do some work on this end to see what we can do. Might be able to do something with Skype as well.

Good idea and thanks for bringing it up. I also agree with you in that the more people who provide input the better a workable solution for the majority can be had.

The event will be April 17-18 2010. Hope it jives with your calendar in the spring .
