To All,
A group of explorers set out to locate the crash site of North American TB-25J Mitchell bomber, serial number 44-86783, which crashed August 25th, 1954 near Lake Berryessa California. The TB-25J had crashed exactly 64 years ago to the day we visited on August 25th, 2018. Because of recent fires in the area, the crash site looked like it had just happened yesterday!

See separately attached documents for the full story of the circumstances of the accident and for crew information.

As always, I welcome your feedback
I'm also looking for more info/pictures of the crew

Enjoy
DaveT

Incredible write up and site, for sure. Thanks for sharing!

By the by, did your email address change Dave? It appears that messaging here doesn't work anymore, and I sent an email to the last address I had for you.

Thanks Dave for all the information about this accident.  Here's a picture I took, pre-County Fire on Feb. 26, 2017

Dave and Roger, what are these two rusty cylindrical objects lying next to each other at the site?

A Citabria!  Holy crap.  Did you pick up any leaves in the landing gear?

We weren't that low, I was using a 100-400mm on a 7D MKII (1.6 Crop factor).  Use it for trains, ships, planes, etc.
