I'm an old for. Pilot of the F-100/105 era trying to help family of William Fuchlow killed in F-111 crash on 12Feb.69. . west of Wendover, Nevada. The official acc. invest. report has seriously inaccurate coordinates. I know a Mike Howard has found the site, as well as a Lou Benoit. Myself and another fellow pilot of that era would like to place a memorial item at the site the week of Aug. 4 th if at all possible, as I live in Texas these days and will be in Utah that week.
Please help!

I live not too far away and recently stumbled across mention of this crash site, but also think the coordinates are inaccurate.  There is a youtube video claiming to find the site, but that is never shown in the video.  Link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGd8Gxqnb0A

Did you ever find out more information regarding this?

Yes, the bikers found the site.
Yes, I have visited the site.
Yes I have copy of official accident report
On the other side of the same mountain is a B-47 crash site.
The whole F-111 is there in countless pieces along with a very nice plaque from the son
The crash site is located over 9000 feet altitude. You will need Motor bikes or a GOOD 4 X 4 to get near the site plus hiking to locate the scattered wreckage.
Here is a link for more info. also photos attached.
PM me if you want more info

I am unsure of how to PM you as your profile page indicates your email and messaging is private.

After thinking about it some, I do think I would like to visit the site if that is possible.  I am involved with a troop of Boy Scouts in Ruby Valley (about 50 miles or so SW of Pequops area) and wonder if you think it could be a good day hike--we lead pretty active lives all of us and are in good shape.  Also, I think it could be a good opportunity to talk about serving our country, personal risk to benefit others, etc. with the boys.

I am leaving today to backpack with my brother in the Pecos wilderness down in NM for a week, so will be without communication, but if you could please let me know how to best contact you to further the conversation for when I return I would greatly appreciate it.
