Attempted to get to the site of a 1961 RF-84 crash in the wilds of Michigan's UP (that's Upper Peninsula for you non-Michiganders!).
I located the site using GoogleEarth and we verified it by flying over it. The guy I was working with on this one is a pilot.
We tried to hike out to it, but the swamp we had to cross to get to it was absolutely brutal! We had to turn back due to darkness, injury and fatigue!
Luckily we had some pictures from 2012 when our original contact made it to the site. We kept trying to set-up a time for him to guide us to the site but our schedules never jived...or so I thought - I now think Ed just doesn't want to make that hike again! [smile]
Does a fly-over count as making the site???
Enjoy the pics.

No it does not count. You must touch a piece to count. I hope you make it to the site. Look for the cockpit section, it may be there.
