A P-39 crashed off the end of the S-N runway @ Pinellas AAF.  The loctation was given as 200 yards south of the WSUN radio tower.  The tower is gone, but a plaque is located at the site.  This is a complete no-brainer, but nothing is there but mud.  The bay there is shallow, so I imagine anything that went in there was pretty much salvaged. To my knowledge, about the only Tampa Bay wreck that wasn't salvaged was the B-26 that went in off Mermaids Point (N.E. St Petersburg).  It's more off Weedon Island, but the remains have sunk in the mud so nothing remains.  This wreck is the most likely one that triggered the saying "One A Day In Tampa Bay".  Dennis (in St Pete)
