While stationed at Fairchild AFB near Spokane Washington I had the chance to visit the remote KC-135 site on the side of Mt Kit Carson which is located just northeast of the city. It turned out to be a bit of a hike since many of the old logging roads had been blocked off. Lucky for us the park officials gave us the GPS coordinates. Not much remains since the USAF moved all the large wreckage. It is also interesting to note that there is another 135 site as well as a B-29 site, both situated near or on Mt Spokane.
Here is a link to the story that got me interesting in visiting them. https://spokanehistorical.org/items/show/706 Here is a link to the images I took that day. https://www.flickr.com/photos/14962636@N02/albums/72157669847658556 Derwood __________________ Darin M. I have great stories and photos of all three of these accidents in my first book; Aircraft Wrecks Of The Pacific Northwest, Volume-1 Dave McCurry

I had the same issue today with an important road I needed being blocked off. It wasn't that bad, only a little over a mile hike. I liked seeing the corrosion in your photos. We have it lucky down here in the Mojave being so dry and easy on the parts. Happy hunting bud. __________________ Troy
