I haven't been active at all lately with my wreckchasing activities, but soon I'll have a new area to explore.  I was offered an Aviation Safety Inspector (Air Carrier Maintenance) position with the FAA in Irving, Texas.  I have to wait until my background check is completed, so don't have a firm start date yet.  I don't suspect it will take very long.

I've already started a mental list of sites to research, including a Delta Airlines DC-3 that crashed in bad weather near Marshall, TX.

Thanks much, gents!  My firm offer came in; I start on 4 August.

Woodser:  glad to see that you've settled in well at the NSAS!  I can imagine that is very satisfying job.

Best of luck in your new job, Jeff!
And congratulations.

I wonder if there is anything left of the two Electra crashes? (N9705C and N9707C)

Jeff,

I love it here!

I will to email you in a few weeks (after you get a bit settled) for some career advice.

They won't let me stay on active duty forever!  I imagined that I would wind up at the FAA or NTSB at some point.

Woodser
