Anyone have any idea on this marking from an F-80? And no Aquaman was not the pilot.
Thanks

I think it marks a grounding point, we used wire cable to ground aircraft when they are parked

It looks to be cast metal. The P/F-80 had a lot of cast metal used on it, most of it in the engine (I-16/J-33) as well as the wheels and part of the landing gear. I think it looks like it came from the engine section or a wheel. Is there any other debris like it near by?

There was very little left at this site. You could pick up everything at the site and place it in a one gallon plastic bag and have room left over.

There is a P-80 and a couple of display engines at work I'll take a look at them the next time I'm in that area

Pretty cool stamping.

I wonder if there was an engine accessory supplier back then called Trident or Poseidon or Neptune?
