U. Kyaw Win was born in Burma and as a young boy witnessed air battles between the RAF and Imperial Japanese Air Force. Fleeing religious persecution, his family emigrated to the U.S. He went on to become a college professor and instructor at the U.S. Army Language School. In 1962, his college friend from Arizona State University died in an F-101B interceptor crash in Macwahoc, Maine. He felt a strong need to visit the site where his friend Doug Roe died. It was an honor to assist him in accomplishing his wish on June 3.

That's great they put that story on air.
Very nice that you did that, Pete.

I love that stone he brought from home.

Did you put the cross up!

Chris

PS-that pilot lived about a half mile south of my older brothers current house in Phx.

I placed the cross on an MAHS hike in October 1999. We placed three that day. This one, An F-86A site and the Sea Fury site. The latter two are now in the National Monument.
