All,

With so much positive discussion and good will that came from the first Symposium

held in California, we here in Colorado would like to open up a question to all of you for your input.

It is our sincere belief that with the concept of a governing body on the mind of most subject matter experts who either attended or provided their input at the Symposium last month in California, a continuation of that topic should be held to take advantage of momentum the debate was gaining.

To that end, we’d like to discuss the idea of bringing us together again here in Denver some time in late winter or early spring to continue collectively hashing out some ideas and possibilities to further advance the concept based on a need that is evident to many. The objective of a second meeting would be to discuss in greater detail how that governing body may work, its requirements, goals, reach and so forth. Of course we'd like some time to swap stories and listen to presentations as well! While the emphasis may not be as broad as the Symposium, we are currently envisioning a one or two day event.

My open question to all who attended the first event and to those of you who missed it - do you agree the topic needs further discussion?  If so, can we find a weekend in the propose time period that looks feasible to a majority of you? If it does not, what changes could be made so that we all may still capture that momentum in the short term via discussions here in Denver?

I broach the subject now in hopes that we can begin to solidify details on a second meeting that works for everyone who is interested in having a voice in the discussion as we look to advance the concept further towards a common goal.

Should you have off-line questions or comments please feel free to e-mail me at mattncolorado@yahoo.com or Brian Richardson at aviator_b@msn.com.

I agree that a second meeting is in order to continue the work started in California. Depending on the dates selected, please count me in.

Terry - throw some dates out there that work. We're just trying to get a feel for what might work and what might not as far as dates are concerned.

Matt,

I have school until the end of May, thus after that would be best for me.

Sounds like a great idea, and spring in Colorado would make a nice backdrop for another meeting.

Craig - your input towards some decisions is significant. Do you have any availability prior to May?

With enough advance warning any weekend should work. Just avoid the last half of May if possible.

Craig - good to know. We really haven't seen as much feedback on this thread as I would have hoped and frankly expected. We really hope to get us all back at the table sooner than later.

I agree the topic needs further discussion! We need to get together face to face to face the issues. Just come up with some proposed date and I'll let you know if I can attend. The next meeting should include fewer presentations and more discussion time. Also a trip to a crash site would be great. multi trips to multi crash sites would be better.

Dave - thanks for the reply. It looks like "some time" in April is starting to solidify to get everybody at the table, based on the schedules of folks that will have an big impact. I feel certain we can get enough time in to visit a site during everyone's time in Denver.

Looks like the weekend of April 17th is the dates and we are planning as such. Who thinks they can make this date?
