Today's Fairbanks Daily News Miner has an article I can't get to link about a Canadian C-130 crash during the Brim Frost Exercise back in '89. It was -50F with severe ice fog that kept the tower from seeing that the 130 had crashed into a snow berm off the runway. A survivor made his way to a hangar to report the crash. A captain who survived was in town(now a retired general)to commemorate. Sorry I can't get a link up; I remember this well as it was below -45F for a month solid.
