Gentlemen,

Pictured forging found amongst scattered fragment on the old Sahuarita range, near Tucson. Part is marked:

HA 2014
FORGING 50-2896-1
BOEING

Not sure of numbers following the 50-, as p/n is part of forging and not particularly clear. Any idea what we're looking at - or better yet, aircraft type?

Thanks in advance for any help!

A friend of mine who is not a member of this message board found that piece 8 years ago. He wrote:

The poster wants to know what he found – I took pictures of that piece in 2010.  I haven’t confirmed by finding another one, but the other parts near that one were all the same parts as a JATO rack from the B-47 – seems reasonable since it was a Boeing part also…

Thanks Craig,

I'll try to find drawings / description of JATO rack to confirm - and will let you know.

Best Regards,

Bob
