Craig,

  I just might make it to the conference this year.  I'll know better in a few weeks.

Craig,

I would crawl through broken glass to be there. Well, maybe not broken glass but definitely styrofoam peanuts. Count me in!

Craig, I am going to try and make it.  Might have to go to the ship around that time, just not sure yet.  Thanks for the invite.

Craig as much as I'd love to go money is a bit tight right now. Hopefully one of these years I will actually be able to make it.

Craig,

I have a huge number of commitments which doesn't allow time to make it to Las Vegas this year, plus received a serious knee injury. I am bummed about not making it but will try hard next year. Glad that we had a great time last year and look forward to doing it again!

Hi Craig,
Late getting back to you but count me in as a "probably will attend."  As you may remember, I along with Steve Owen and others, are on the Airway Beacon and Radio Range side of the family.   I may have a related presentation.   More later.

I will most likely be there! My time off work has been approved, just need to work on some finances to make it happen.

(I also updated this information in the first post)

I now have additional details, in particular, payment and hotel information. Details follow below.

Hope to see you there!

Craig

Payment

Admission for the two-day event is $60.00 which covers the cost of the meeting room, audio visual equipment, and morning and afternoon snacks. Payment can be made by sending PayPal Payment to aair@AviationArchaeology.com (or you can use the PayPal button on AAIR’s website at http://www.aviationarchaeology.com/src/reports.htm#ORD ), enter $60.00 for amount and in the notes enter “2012 Aviation Archaeology Conference.” PayPal is the only way we can accept credit cards. Or you may mail a check or Money Order to:

Craig Fuller

4409 Hillview Way

Rohnert Park, CA 94928

Deadlines

Due to stringent Air Force security policy, AAHA has to have everyone attending this conference registered for admittance by 5:00 pm (PDT), April 20, 2012.  This means you can’t show at the gate and pay at the last minute.  You will also need to provide your date of birth when you register as part of the security procedures.

(Note that if you are a foreign national, your meeting registration information must be submitted 60 days in advance.)

Lodging

There are a number of lodging options located within a short distance of the conference center.  However, special discount rates have been reserved for this event through two places.

The first is Nellis Suites at Main Gate, http://nellissuitesatmaingate.com/, 4555 Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89115.  This accommodation is situated adjacent the main gate to the base. This is the closest and cheapest option available. Most attendees stayed here last year. It is an older hotel, and while a few people complained about the hard beds, most found it more than adequate:

Discount rates are available for the following dates: April 27, 2012 - April 30, 2012

1 Bedroom Suite   $ 59.00 per night + 12% tax & hotel service fee of $5.00 per day.

2 Bedroom Suite   $ 79.00 per night + 12% tax & hotel service fee of $5.00 per day

*Based on availability. The cutoff date for these rates is 5 days before arrival date: April 22, 2012 before 5pm. (rates may change after this time).

*All suites are single/double occupancy.  After 2 adults there will be a $10 extra adult fee per room, per night.  Under age 18 yrs. there is NO charge.

*The hotel has a 24hr. cancellation policy.

*Check-in time is 3pm & check-out is 12 noon.

The amenities that are offered are as follows:

* 1 & 2 Bedroom Suites

* Full Size Kitchens and Appliances including cookware & dishes.

* Outdoor Lagoon-Style Pool & Spa

* Local & Long Distance Phone Calls (within the US)

* Wi-Fi internet access

* Complimentary Deluxe Continental Breakfast Daily

* Complimentary Coffee & Tea Served all Day in lobby.

* Courtesy Patrol

* Pet Friendly (25lbs. and under, $50 pet fee will apply. Working animals excluded.)

* Large Laundry Facility with Ice machine.

* Fitness Center with weight training equipment.

* In-Room Safes

* Order-Inn Room Service *Provided by Order-Inn Hospitality Services

* Iron/Ironing Board-Full size.

* Restaurants & Walmart within walking distance.

2nd Option

The second option is Holiday Inn Express® Las Vegas – Nellis, http://www.hiexpress.com/lv-nellis, 4035 N. Nellis Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89115. This is further away, and more expensive, but is a new, nicer hotel. The rate is $75.00 a night plus 12% Room Occupancy Tax.

To obtain this rate you will need to contact Zenina Malden, Sales Coordinator, by phone or e-mail at: 702-644-0893 or Zenina@finehospitality.com
