Aircraft history Cards can be obtained from The NASM. You can order up to 3 serial numbers at a time.  Only took a couple of weeks to get. No need to order a whole roll of film unless you want it and their rolls are only $20.

These cards are great.
I ordered one for a B-24D I have chasing for the last 4 years.
The historian was excited and included a personal message telling me how this plane had been involved in a crash landing prior to its final crash.

Hi Dave,
Would the record cards show any mention of whether an aircraft had been given/sold to an educational organization after being sent (in this particular case) to Walnut Ridge? I have nine B-17 serials to check.

No. Not that I know of. The last entry is usually date "Stricken from the Navy inventory"
