Dave, anyone who has hiked with me knows that I'm a really slow moving hiker. There was times going up the ridge that I was stopping every 20 feet to take a few breaths before climbing another 20 feet. What I tell people is that I do the hikes by determination, not ability. Attached one of the newspaper articles that I got the info from about the accident. Attached Images:

Believe it or not, the "White Knight's" wife and one of his daughters were in the back seats and survived the crash. They were rescued several hours later by searchers. However, they were too late for the pilot and his other daughter. |

| #5 | Great presentation again Joe. Absolutely amazed at the gum wrapper you found in the seatback ashtray. Talk about a time snapshot! I can see the wife giving the daughter that stick of gum before they take off for help in equalizing her ears....kind of eerie (no pun intended) in a way.
Thanks for posting.

| #6 | What a great trip report and a nicely intact Cherokee. Joe's reports and photos would make a heck of a coffee table book. It is something that they were able to get the wife and daughter out at least, considering how hard it would be to see it in the snow.
I suspect the cuts and distant pieces were actually from scrappers. |

| #8 | Great pictures and part ID. I think the sensor picture next to the fuel pump is the fuel pressure sender - not sure but seems pretty likely to me.
I find it spooky to see Cherokee parts. I flew a Cherokee and helped annual and repair it a few years back so the parts are pretty familiar. Trustworthy airplane but subject to the same pilot weaknesses as they all are. __________________ Unimogbert |
