Now this is a unique idea. Essentially a flying aircraft carrier. I especially like the description of how maintainers would work in pressurized suits on the hangar decks. If it ever crashed, there would be a lot of wreckage to look for! Attached Files:

| #2 | Seeing as how a single blown tire on takeoff or inflight fire could wipe out an entire fighter wing including its support personnel in a fireball visible three states away, I can understand why this idea died on the vine. The enormous amount of fuel you'd need to haul around 'a score' of fighters(also full of fuel) earns this plane the nickname of 'Petroleum Overcast'. |
