A F-16 jet made a hard landing at Wickenburg AZ, a small airport about 40 miles north of Phoenix Thursday morning. The pilots rode it in after an engine failure

Video from Air15 showed the jet sitting in a dirt strip between two runways at the airport.

There was what appeared to be a wheel lying in the dirt behind the jet that came in short of the runway but damage to the aircraft hasn't yet been determined. A cause of the engine failure will be investigated.

Another one bites the dust! Lucky no one was hurt. They should give the pilot an Air Metal for landing it instead of ejecting.

There was a mid-air between two F-16D's from Shaw AFB last Thursday. They went together about 30 miles east of Charleston. One managed to land safely at Charleston AFB, but they haven't yet found the 2nd aircraft.

That's three in a week.

Looks like another F-16 destined for a GF-16 designation. At least they got down safely as that's not always the case. I wonder if bird ingestion was the cause of the flame out. Will be interesting to hear what the cause is determined to be.

F-16 moved from Wickenburg Field 27 Oct . I guess there will be no "wreck" to chase there.
First photo shows the jet sitting on a flatbed trailer. The second photo is a closer shot from a different location.  Shortly after this shot they rotated the F-16 180 degrees so that the tail is near the truck cab.
there was discussion that the jet would be scrapped for parts because of the level of damage.

This is one wreck that got away!
